In the words of our 2008 Spring Semester Fellows...
"As a fellow with the Phoenix Project, I had the pleasure of working with a number of organizations on a variety of capacity building projects. I was partnered with the Petersburg Department of Social Services, the Petersburg Department of Health, and the Virginia Network of Nonprofit Organizations (VANNO), with projects ranging from creating program applications to accompanying a senior social worker on home visits. I never expected to gain as much knowledge about the nonprofit sector, the City of Petersburg or to build the lasting professional relationships that I have during this fellowship. In fact, I enjoyed my fellowship so much I decided to join the Phoenix Project’s Nonprofit Leadership and Social Entrepreneurship Program Class of 2008!"
"My internship at the Phoenix Project was truly one of the best academic and professional experiences of my life. The staff is intelligent, insightful, and dedicated to making positive social change throughout Virginia and beyond. I built relationships within the organization that will last a lifetime, and feel privileged to have been part of such magnificent work."
