In the words of our 2007 Fall Semester Interns...

"I have always been interested in working for a nonprofit organization and helping others who are less fortunate. When I heard about the Phoenix Project’s internship, I realized it was the perfect opportunity to work with a nonprofit. I really liked what I had read on the website and could not let this opportunity pass me by. This internship has helped me realize my potential by fostering my confidence when I am put to new tasks. I have gained useful knowledge and skills to enhance my resume thus making me a more marketable candidate for future employees. The Phoenix Project staff are some of the best supervisors I have ever had. The working environment is relaxed and peaceful. I would definitely recommend this internship for people who are interested in working with nonprofit organizations and are free to work ten hours per week."

"My intern experience at the Phoenix Project has proved to be both educational and fulfilling. I now have a better sense of the manifold logistical efforts which are crucial to the good management, as well as the general future, of a nonprofit organization. Thanks to the full time staff of the Phoenix Project, I have learned how to build networks and partnerships with others interested in helping distressed communities and, in the process, have learned how to help build sustainable change."

"As an intern with The Phoenix Project I gained an appreciation for the time and effort required to build and sustain relationships with individuals, businesses and existing partnerships. I now possess valuable tools, from my training, to reference and build upon throughout my career. At Phoenix, I was not just an intern rather I was a member of team of co-workers who were hard-working, dedicated and passionate about their business."

"I came to the Phoenix Project with very little knowledge about nonprofit organizations and a desire to try and see if it was a field that I would be comfortable pursuing. This experience has taught me not only about this specific program, but also about what is going on in the nonprofit world in general. I have enjoyed this experience and have learned a great deal about what goes in to a nonprofit and have had the opportunity to work directly on projects that impact the program. The staff is wonderful and very easy to work with. I have been given plenty of guidance while also being encouraged to work on my own and improve my skills as a writer with valid experience. I have gained confidence and experience that will help me be more attractive for future employers."
