The Phoenix Project is now accepting Fall 2008 requests from nonprofit organizations and municipal agencies serving residents of the Route 1 Corridor and Southeast Newport News. George Mason University and Christopher Newport University, respectively, have stepped forward to anchor these partnerships, but the Phoenix Project can draw on a network of 42 Virginia institutions of higher education in finding partners to assist your organization to serve residents of these econonically distressed communities.

By filling out the form below, you will initiate the process through which the Phoenix Project team seeks university faculty, staff and alumni to be partners in your project.  Successful matches are most common when the project helps build the capacity of your organization while also providing an educational vaule to professors and students.

Here is a representative list of projects completed or underway in the Phoenix Project partnership in Petersburg (by nine partner universities) to illustrate the types of high-quality, high-impact economic and community development projects that we can accomplish working together.

You can also view these examples of completed forms.

Questions should be directed to info@phoenixproject.org or 703-425-3532.

Upon submission of the form, please allow several days for our staff to review the form and get back to you to discuss next steps. Thank you for all you do for Virginia.
